Behind the Times!

Good grief!  The last two months have been a whirlwind of activity for Crafty Neighbor, and this poor blog has been blown to the far reaches of Forgotten Land.  First we had Pam's Pals and then we had our 5th Annual Scrapbooking Cruise.  We're back now, and we had a great time, but now there's a big stack of work sitting on the desk!  Oh, the price we pay for having fun.  And we did have fun, didn't we?  We'll let you be the judge.

Pam's Pals Benefit Crop raised more than $1800 to help fight breast cancer.  The money was donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure on behalf of 3-Day walkers Mallory Duggan, Christen Murray, Pam Wilemon, and me.  This donation will allow us to walk and/or crew the 2013 3-Day event November 2-4, 2013, bringing more awareness to this very important cause.  If you are interested in learning more about Susan G. Komen, the the 3-Day, or our Pam's Pals event, please visit our website.

As you probably know, we just returned last week from our eagerly anticipated annual scrapbooking cruise.  This was the first year for me to coordinate the cruise without my dear friend and partner, Pam Wilemon, and I have to say I was more than a little nervous about tackling the job by myself.  It really is a two-person job.  So in May, when Close to My Heart demonstrator Valerie Jackson (also of Dallas Crafters Marathon) agreed to teach some classes and lend me a hand, I was more than thrilled.  Valerie turned out to be a great partner, and after sharing my vision with her, we set out together to present what I think was the best scrapbooking cruise Crafty Neighbor has organized to date.  We did a lot of things differently this year and it really shows!

Now that we're back, we're busy planning our calendar for next year and we'll have another cruise in the works very soon.  Watch for details here and on our website.  In the meantime, find us on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/CraftyNeighbor, and enjoy the pictures from our events!
