365 Challenge - Week 2

Wow! Can you believe it?!  We’ve made it through our first week of our 365 challenge!  Now that wasn’t that hard was it?  I hope you are enjoying working on your projects as much as I am!

As I mentioned yesterday, from here on out, I’ll be posting the prompts one week at a time.  So starting today, you will get your next 7 prompts and some samples of work from the previous week, that way I don’t have to bombard you with a bunch of blog posts every day and we’ll have some room on the blog for some other crafty things as well.  If you really want to check out each day's artwork as it gets done, go check out our Flickr Group, and feel free to post your own entries as well!

So without further adieu, here are the next 7 prompts:

  • Good
  • Define: happy
  • I would like to ________ again
  • My clothes…
  • Something worth dying for…
  • What character from your favorite tv show can you most relate to?
  • What do I wish for this year to bring?

Wow, that’s a lot to think about, right?  I get giddy just thinking about it!  But guess what?!  Something’s missing!  This blog post needs some eye candy!  Since I've already posted all of my own projects for this week, I thought I’d share some of Christen’s.  You may have seen some of these on the Flickr group, but just in case…

Day 1 - Why:

Christen's answer to "Why"
I love her hidden journaling!

"My why reason is hidden behind in a pull tag that was embossed. I decided to keep that journaling hidden. Everything else is just scraps and pieces clipped from magazines. This one was the hardest to get the ball rolling. It had been a while since I did any art journaling and I had no idea where to start. I think it turned out pretty cool."

Day 2 - My Motto:

Christen is using a spiral-bound sketch pad for her project

"I don't really have a motto, so I dug one up online. I didnt have access to a printer at the time so I used a little journaling tag. I used Cindy's clock stamp from Stampin' Up which is discontinued. It worked out great for the theme. The Journaling says, 'If you spend too much time thinking about a thing you'll never get it done,' which is so true for me. I am Miss-Plan-It-All-Out on paper, but I rarely ever do what is on my list!"

Day 3 - Sparks my creativity:

"Having a nice clean space is really what sparks my creativity. When I can see past the junk and enjoy my surroundings then I can feel inspired by my craft supplies. Sometimes when you come home from work you have to get a few chores done so that you can relax. To me that is really all it takes. Once I get going I can't stop. In this one I took colors from random pages in a magazine to form a rainbow effect. This one needs something else. I am thinking some stamps with black Stayz-On."

Day 4 - Too much of a good thing:

"My worst enemy is myself. I am not very good at convincing myself to get out of bed in the morning. That really starts my day off wrong, yet I do it every day. Can't figure out what's wrong with me. At least I know what I am doing wrong and am ready to take the next step. It is a battle I fight everyday."

Day 5 - What makes me glow:

"I know it is a little conceited but what really makes me smile and feel awesome inside is looking in the mirror and feeling surprised at how pretty I can look. Most days I roll out of bed and throw clothes on and run to work, but when I take the time to put some effort into it, I can really tell. Plus, making other peoples' faces look funny really makes me giggle. This was too fun and I highly recommend trying it out!"

Day 6 - A character I despise:

"I think that Peter Griffin is one TV personality I just can not stand. I have never met anyone like him in real life (thank God) and hope that I never do. I just feel like he is a waste of space, tv and in reality. Don't have much to say except that I just really don't like him. My boyfriend says that this page looks like I worship Peter Griffin, but I really don't. I need to work on showing my feelings in my art work. It was hard, as I feel that this character doesn't deserve my negativity. I have better things to fuss about!"

Day 7 - Squares:

"I had a hard time with this one as I started painting and drawing WAY before I realized how the prompt could relate to my word of the year. Oops!  It's ok though because I managed to squeeze that in at the last minute. Its not my best work, but I really like the flow of this one."

Christen has done some great work, hasn't she?  You can see more of her work by visiting our Flickr group at  http://www.flickr.com/groups/cn365/.  Be sure to upload your work to share as well!  We'd love to see it!

Love Christen's art journal. Thinking of having a journal for myself now. A real book, where I can write, draw, punch and paste....

Christen is much better at the art journal than I am! This is the first time I have ever done one. I'm really enjoying the process. I hope mine gets better! I love the idea of it -- just being able to do ANYTHING on that page. I bought a used book at the thrift store, but Christen bought a sketch book at the arts/crafts store. There are many different kinds of books to suit everyone!

I love art journals. There is no limit to what they can contain. You can write in them or leave them wordless. The best part about them is that you can pait over it if you don't like the outcome. its also a great way to test out new supplies like paint and markers!
